Blurring the lines of metal, rock and pop, Freakhouse's hybrid vision is poised to capture the ear of the modern rock world. Formed in the late 90's in Austin, Texas, Freakhouse quickly built an intensely devoted following from their live performances. Wearing gas masks and having pinhead roadies had people seriously concerned, but shocking theatrics were just one aspect of Freakhouse, they also had killer songs. Word of mouth spread about the band and they were immediately signed to a one off deal. Their first release, "Subculture Revolution" spent 13 weeks in the top 10 of R&R's Rock Specialty Show chart. With melt down performances across the land, the reviews started pouring in and the buzz was rolling. Reality Entertainment flew out to meet them in Des Moines, Iowa while the band was crisscrossing the nation and signed them to a worldwide multi-album deal culminating with their heralded release “Beautiful Misery.”
“Beautiful Misery” is a mind warp of an album, a sonic journey that takes you from the mellow, melancholy haunting of "Liars Inc." to the face plastering terror of "Peel Away the Skin” and back to safer ground with "Love Hates Me" a compelling and reflective number with urban shades featuring the legendary LA rapper LOWD. The title song has been rocking college and alternative radio for weeks and Freakhouse songs became the music for the hit extreme sports series "Mobile Skate Park." Freakhouse was also a featured artist on the hugely successful soundtrack for the 3D Anime feature "Galerions Rion" with Slipknot, Adema, and Coal Chamber.
Freakhouse's new self titled album comes hot on the heels of their hit single and video "Liars, Inc." which was featured on all Dell Computers worldwide. The new album picks up right where "Beautiful Misery" left off, its got all the hooks and riffs Freakhouse fans have grown accustomed yet and is loaded with songs that get under your skin and never get bumped from your ipod rotation. Fans of Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, and Nickelback will love this cd. Includes the hit singles "Dead on the Inside" and "No Way Down" with special bonus tracks "Creep" and "Plowed". Freakhouse once again prove why Metal Edge dubbed them "the band that redefined hard rock".
Freakhouse is a metaphor more than anything else, that human beings can be classified as insane by their own definitions. "The Freakhouse is planet earth and you’re in the circus whether you like it or not. The jig is up, people know that they’re being taken for a ride in many ways, from the Burger King meal deal to the return policy at Blockbuster to the circular logic of politics, who fucking cares? It’s all bullshit and the world is becoming more Stepford-like everyday. We hate consumer complacency and the genericizing of human beings and I guess we deal with it by being in a band. Our fans cope by coming to shows and they know one thing is for sure, at the end of a sweat drenched gig when all the toxins have been released and everyone at the show has been rocked to the core, there's no better feeling," says vocalist, Rob Escher.
Look for the new single "Dead on the Inside" to be featured on Yahoo Music and Itunes later this year.
Look for the hit single "Liars Inc" on your DELL computer. Michael Dell himself loves that song so much it will be on every new DELL computer from now till forever. Freakhouse is sponsored by Epiphone Guitars, which a band by the name of the Beatles also played.
Look for Freakhouse on the road in 2009, you might see a Killer clown but dont worry its actually safe to go to a Freakhouse show. You'll leave bruised and sweaty but enlightened in a very strange yet satisfying way that you will not soon forget.
